R-JMEC chief urges Kiir to appoint Olony to help address ‘instability’ in Upper Nile

Last Week, South Sudan’s main armed opposition group, SPLM-IO, said President Kiir had accepted to appoint General Olony as governor, but said there were surprise that he wasn’t appointed as promised by the South Sudanese head of state.
Kiir who is not on good terms with Machar rejected Olony several times saying the embattled opposition commander is a “warmonger” who he said will jeopardize reconciliation efforts between the already hostile Upper Nile state communities.
The head of peace-monitoring body Gen. Tai made this call during the meeting of R-JMEC in Juba.
“The appointment of the governor of Upper Nile State remains outstanding. I have been informed on numerous occasions that negotiations between the concerned parties are ongoing. I therefore reiterate my previous appeals to the highest political leadership of the country to find a compromise and appoint the governor of Upper Nile state. I am hopeful this will help address the instability in the state.” He said.
Olony, a controversial opposition commander in Upper Nile state, was nominated by First Vice President Dr. Riek Machar Teny, a peace partner to Kiir and the SPLM-IO leader, on June 24 but has not been appointed since.
The call by the peace-monitoring body came as the main armed opposition group said on Friday that it was submitting its list of nominees to state and local governments and that of the revitalized parliament for appointment.
This was in contradiction to a previous position in which the SPLM-IO said it won’t submit list for state governments formation until General Johnson Olony is appointed as governor of Upper Nile state.
Mr. Salva Kiir can just tell this Bantus creep to go and fuck himself with Mr. Oliny.
The creeps are not here to come and lecture the South Sudanese people on whom they should chose as their leaders. But only to oversee the implementation.
The creep is overstepping his job. It is high time these scroungers are told the facts.
Better you civilize up. Olony is an IO senior member who was nominated by his party to govern Upper Nile according to R-ARCSS terms. That must be made to pass if really the government honors its signature on the agreement documents otherwise it should come out openly and declare the agreement is now null and void. Otherwise kids politics with human lives loss must be stopped.
