JUBA – A South Sudanese journalist working for the state-owned South Sudan Broadcasting Corporation (SSBC) who had been detained over failure to pay bride price for 68 days has been released.

Journalist Majur Chol Khor shared a message of his released on his Facebook page on Thursday, captioned “68 days in prison.”

“Today I am finally after spending 68 days under detention both in Juba Central Prison and Police custody,” Majur said.

He believed that his arrest was politicized.

“Though my arrest was politicized, we don’t take it hard, I personally consider it as part of our success,” he said.

He sent his heartfelt gratitude to his in-laws and relatives for reaching an understanding to make their dreams come to reality.

“Today we pray that our enemies to love themselves and be ashamed for their bad wishes,” he added.
