“We hope this time around we will embrace democracy because with democracy, we can easily govern ourselves through peaceful transfer of power from one party to another,” Changson said on Friday after elections of South Sudan National Movement for Change in Juba.
“If there was no R-ACRSS of 2018, you won’t be conducting your convention today or maybe you won’t be here today. So, those are the dividends of peace and therefore, we must make sure that this peace agreement becomes sustainable so that the past would be forgotten,” Changson added.
He disclosed that democratic transformation will start as soon as the peace parties completed the implementation of chapter two of the peace deal.
“As soon as we implement chapter two then the real democratic transformation will start and you will have another convention and other parties will do the same,” he said.
“At the level of South Sudan, we hope this time around we will embrace democracy because with democracy, we can easily govern ourselves through peaceful transfer of power from one party to another,” he added.
