NAIROBI, APRIL 8, 2023 (AGENCIES) – A South Sudanese small girl identified as 12-year-old Akolde Dut Paul girl who went missing after being sent to a local supermarket, has been safely found, according to the Kenya media.

This was after she was taken to a police station by a lady who claimed to have found her lost in the streets and took her home.

The police have since arrested the lady and her accomplice on suspicion of kidnapping the minor.

She had been accused of shoplifting by the supermarket attendant, who sent her home to call her parents.

The family said they were planning to take her back home to South Sudan, where her mother is and has been worried since she was reported missing.

Her aunt, Panda Paul, thanked all who helped the family trace her, adding that she had started fearing the worst after she disappeared.

Luel Bai Paul, her uncle, added that they would allow the minor to process the whole ordeal, pointing out that it must have been traumatising for her.

“The plan of the family is to take her back to South Sudan; we want to go and understand her and talk to her. It’s still too early, and maybe she’s still too traumatised we need to give her time to cool down. Her mum is also worried and waiting to see her,” he said.
