South Sudan’s Leek Community in Egypt elects new leader

Nhial Ruai Yap won the votes by just a margin of over ten votes against his opponent, Riak Machar Pathot, who later conceded and described the election of being entirely peaceful and democratic.

JUBA – South Sudan Leek Community of Rubkona County of the country’s Unity State in Egypt on Friday elected a new leader in an election voters said were satisfied to declare as free and fair.

Nhial Ruai Yap won the votes by just a margin of over ten votes against his opponent, Riak Machar Pathot, who later conceded and described the election of being entirely peaceful and democratic.

Speaking following the votes, Ruai said he will work with others who were elected along with him to cement the unity of the people of Rubkona County in Egypt and said he won’t slide away from the established traditions the community association of the community.

“I will work together with my brothers, the secretary-general and the chairman of the council to advance the interest of the Leek Community in Egypt and we won’t branch from our community’s constitution,” he told the voters.

Kuol Riek Kuol Jal was elected as the secretary-general of Leek Community Association in the Arab Republic of Egypt. He won the poll by a margin of 15 votes against his opponent Dak Marol Kuok who also immediately conceded.

Duop Mead Jal was elected without a contender as the chairman of the council of the Leek Community Association in the Arab Republic of Egypt and then vowed to effect and exercise constitutionalism in daily practices.
