SPLM-IO urges Tingo to hand over stamp, official documents

JUBA – South Sudan’s main armed opposition group, SPLM-IO, has asked Tingo Peter, the group’s Secretary-General who resigned on Tuesday, to hand over all official assets including stamp back to the movement.

In a statement this evening, Manawa Peter Gatkuoth, the SPLM-IO deputy chairperson for information and public relations committee, acknowledged  Tingo’s resignation, asking him to hand over stamp which he hasn’t returned to the main armed opposition group following his resignation.

“The leadership of SPLM/SPLA (IO) would like to inform its member and the people of South Sudan that it received the resignation of Secretary General, Cde Peter Tingo, from the party on 10 November 2020,” the statement extended to Sudans Post reads in part.

“Due to his resignation, we urge him to hand over the documents and the stamp of the party, since he is no longer the party Secretary General and not a member of SPLM/SPLA (IO),” the statement added.

The senior SPLM-IO official further reiterated the group’s commitment to the implementation of the revitalized.

“In conclusion, we want to reassure our members and the peace loving we are fully committed to the citizens of South Sudan that implementation of the revitalize peace agreement,” the statement said.
