Yak was arrested in January this year after allegedly shooting dead four construction workers, three Syrian nationals and one South Sudanese. The workers were building the house of President Salva Kiir Mayardit in Akon village of Warrap state.
Last week, he pleaded guilty to killing the three Syrians.
“But what annoyed me to the point of killing them? Yes, I killed them. I also shot at their car and was told by my commander that I was under arrest but not immediately arrested,” he told the court on Tuesday when asked if he was guilty.
The president of general court martial Maj. Gen. Majok Michael Chan who read the ruling this afternoon expelled the South Sudanese army soldier from active military service and then sentenced him top death by firing squad.
“The court has dismissed Yak from SSPDF military service as of today. He will be executed by firing squad,” he said.
