SSPDF says Kerbino Kuanyin’s son who was arrested on Monday attempted to kill his own sister

Army spokesman Major –General Lul Ruai Koang said SSPDF officer Robert Anguei Kerbino Kuanyin who is popularly known as Robert Mike Mike was arrested because he had committed a number of offences including an attempt "to murder Lt. Col. Amel Keribeno Kuanyibol."

JUBA – South Sudan army has said in a statement extended to Sudans Post this afternoon that army officer and son of SPLA fighter Kerbino Kuanyin Bol who was arrested in Juba on Monday had several charges including attempts to kill his own sister.

Yesterday, gunfire was heard around Hai Cinema in Juba after the Robert Anguei Kerbino Kuanyin Bol, an army officer who is better known as Robert Mike Mike, resisted an arrested from members of the military police.

In a statement to explain the incident this afternoon, army spokesman Major-General Lul Ruai Koang said the son of the late SPLA liberator was arrested because he has been charged on several crimes including self-promotion and attempt to kill his sister who is also an army officer.

“On July 5th, 2021, R/SM. Robert Anguei, popularly known as ‘Mike Mike’ who served at Command Unit resisted lawful orders by opening fire on Security Forces that had been sent to re-arrest him,” the army statement extended to Sudans Post reads in part.

“Robert, had committed a number of offences that included promoting himself from rank of Regimental Sergeant Major to the Rank of Colonel, attempted to murder Lt. Col. Amel Kerbino Kuanyin Bol as well as charges leveled against him by CID,” the statement added.

Major-General Lul Ruai further said the Anguei will “be investigated and arraigned before a Military Court Marshal.”
