OPINION – Once upon a time, there was a marriage competition among three animals namely Mr. Elephant, Mr. Rhino and Mr. Hyena over the beautiful daughter of Mr Tiger. These three animals declared their interest to marry Tiger’s daughter.  The father of the daughter Mr. Tiger had a brother called Buffalo whom he loved to the maximum. Mr. Tiger then asked the three animals ( Mr. Elephant, Mr. Rhino and Mr. Hyena) to see him along with their respective best friends. Traditionally, any man who wants to marry a lady must first convince girl’s father.

In the following day, all the three animals arrived at Mr. Tiger’s house with their respective best friends. Having welcomed the guest, the father of the girl Mr tiger began the screening process. Mr. Tiger sorted out Mr. Hyena and told him ( Hyena) that he was not competent to marry his daughter. The justifications behind Mr. Tiger’s decision to screen out Mr Hyena were as follows: Mr. Tiger accused Mr Hyena of being greedy. Mr. Tiger also accused Mr. Hyena of lacking the qualities of a good husband such as lack of patience and finally Mr. Tiger also blamed Mr hyena for failing to take care of his ( Hyena)  first wife. Therefore, the lady’s father Mr. Tiger used the third reason to screen out Mr. Hyena because he (Hyena) was first given a daughter by the same Tiger but he failed to take care of her.

After realizing that he ( Hyena)  was completely knocked out in marriage race, the Hyena’s best friend who accompanied him to the girl’s house immediately started blaming the Tiger’s brother, Mr Buffalo of gossiping against them. Mr hyena’s best friend accused the Tiger’s brother Mr. Buffalo of convincing Mr. Tiger to screen out Mr. Hyena without even knowing that Mr. Buffalo was very innocent.

The above story of the animals reflects the predicted defeat and final exit of Dr. Joesph Nguen Monytuil and his group from the politics of Unity State and their decision to point hands towards an innocent man Gen. Taban Deng Gai. First of all, the former office manager of Joesph Monytuil must know that Gen. Taban Deng Gai is neutral and impartial in the politics of Unity State. He is neither a candidate nor a supporter to any candidate for the gubernatorial position of Unity State. Gen. Taban Deng is a Vice President for the infrastructure cluster and he is busy with the national affairs not Unity State affairs. Blaming him for the Nguen’s failure to convince the appointing authority is a misplaced assumption.

Puot Gatduel has been throwing insults towards Gen. Taban Deng Gai without taking into consideration that Gen. Taban Deng is very far from Unity State Politics. Describing the peace maker as an engineer of all conflicts in South Sudan constitue a crime according to the transitional constitution of the Republic of South Sudan. Gen Taban Deng denotes most of his lifetime towards peace promotion in South Sudan. Without him, the Revitalised agreement on the Resolution of Conflict in the Sepublic of South Sudan ( R-ARCISS) would have not been possible.

Coming to his achievements during his tenure in the office as a governor of unity state for two terms, which Mr Puot Gatduel have denied. Gen. Taban’s achievements in Unity State are visible and any reasonable citizen can acknowledge. He was the one who constructed Bentiu Hospital, the main hospital in Unity State. He constructed many health care centres across Unity State. The roads in use in Greater Unity State were constructed by Taban Deng during his first tenure in the office. He built the government offices including the office of governor in Unity State. All the citizens of Unity State were in peace with each other and with their neighbours during Gen Taban Deng’s tenure in the office.

I am advising this hopeles man called Puot Gatduel to desist from attacking Gen. Taban Deng Gai. He is a people’s leader. Attacking a leader amounts to the  attack of the people. Make sure that you are attacking the people of South Sudan whom Gen. Taban Deng is leading.
