JUBA – South Sudan’s Vice President for Infrastructure Taban Deng Gai has appointed a new press secretary, three years after his press secretary Agel Ring Machar resigned.

In a statement, Taban named Kawaja Kau Madol as the new press secretary.

“After consulting more extensively on your suitability for employment, I hereby approve your appointment as Press Secretary at grade: 1,” Taban said in a letter obtained by Sudans Post.

The vice-president said the appointment is “effective from the date of signing of this letter. In this role, you will be the Director of Press and Media in the Office of the Vice President.”

He further added that the new press secretary’s “job description setting out your duties and responsibilities shall be printed for you in duplicate which you are expected to sign to signify that it is understood by you and will be adhered to at all times.”
