Baiga Emmanuel, chief of security at the office of the governor succumbed to fatal injuries from a car accident along J-1 road on Wednesday.
Speaking at the custom market where four shops burned to ashes on Wednesday, Thiik Thiik Mayaardit, Deputy Town Mayor described the death of the governor’s chief of security, Baiga Emmanuel as a great loss to the nation.
“The bodyguard of the governor was crushed this morning by the car when he was leaving from home to the office, so it is also two unfortunate things which have happened to us as Juba city council and as Central Equatoria Council in general,” Thiik told reporters on Wednesday at the custom market.
Thiik said the incident occurred when the two boda-bodas collided, the bodyguard fell down and the car overran along J-1 road.
“This person (bodyguard of the governor) was just leaving home heading to the office but the two boda-bodas collided and the bodyguard fell down and the car overran him,” he said.
“His head has been burst completely, and there is nothing like head. They are just carrying a body and the head is not there and this is bad news that has happened to us. We don’t why this thing is happening but it is all in the hand of God,” he added.
In August 2020, unknown gunmen killed four bodyguards of Governor Emmanuel Adil Anthony during a road ambush between Juba-Yei.
