Speaking during RJMEC plenary meeting held in Juba on Thursday, U.S. Ambassador to South Sudan Michael J. Adler called on the government to hold accountable, those who continue to incite violence between citizens of the country.
“We renew our call for the government to hold accountable, those who continue to incite violence and engage in intimidation to meet their own political aims and objectives. This can only be detrimental to the wellbeing of the people of South Sudan,” Adler said while delivering a speech on behalf of Troika.
He said the implementation of the peace agreement is not progressing with the necessary political will.
“The Implementation of the peace agreement is not progressing with the necessary political will, as was assured by the government when it obtained a two-year extension of the transitional period.”
Adler urged the political leaders to expedite the implement the peace agreement and make sustained, tangible progress to completing the transition to a permanent one.
“South Sudan’s leaders must focus on meeting their commitments to the people of South Sudan to implement the peace agreement and make sustained, tangible progress to completing the transition to a permanent, elected government acceptable to the people of South Sudan.”
He said time is fleeting if the transitional government intends to match the President’s words of no more extension of the agreement with tangible action to complete the constitution and hold credible elections.
“The Troika is looking to the transitional government to take concrete actions, propelled by a real and determined sense of urgency. Statements of intent must be quickly transformed into real-world deliverables. Only by doing so will the continuing hardships facing the people of South Sudan begin to be alleviated,” he said.
In fact, according to my understanding in which the Troika countries (United states of America, United Kingdom-UK, and Norway) wouldn’t have got it very well that, the reason why peaceful process isn’t getting through as expected is that the so-called oppositions’ groups aren’t ready for peaceful implementations to have been bilaterally achieved in accordance?
That’s why the Oppositions’ groups have been slowly moving in any political momentum based on how this current delaying tactical long tedious awaiting peaceful process could have been soberly reached in its letter and spirit.
However, their only collaterals complaining are just labeling unworthy accusations against the ruling party SPLM under H.E president Salva Kiir Mayardit for whatever their expectations are about opposition groups’ interests to be met as prioritized, not just for the entire South Sudan Country’s peaceful process shouldn’t be reached and achieved based on the citizens’ interests.
Here is the missing out concern on critical analysis about this petty peaceful process being tediously awaited by all South Sudanese citizens, yet being diluted with a different bewildering political interest driven by the outside spectators’ forceful means as it seems continued moving South Sudan Country unwavering to its non- stoppable political settlements than just expecting more destabilizations and insecurity posed perilous that will continue to happen on its daily basis in our nation.
