BENTIU — The governor of South Sudan’s Unity State Joseph Nguen Manytuil has issued a gubernatorial order dismissing the SPLM-IO-appointed Commissioner of Rubkona, County Gatluak Wichar Nyah, an aid who claims Gatluak was fired for advancing electoral interest of the SPLM-IO has just told Sudans Post.

While reasons behind his dismissal are still unknown, state security advisor Salam Maluet claims that the opposition-nominated commissioner was giving aid to flood-affected citizens in a way that he says manipulates the assistance to advance SPLM-IO electoral interest and said Gatluak has not been cooperative with other County officials appointed on the ticket of the ruling SPLM party.

“Since he came to the county, he has been working as if he is a governor of the whole Unity state. He has not been in good terms with his deputy as well as the governor and then come the issue of floods, he uses the assistance from aid organizations as if it is coming from SPLM-IO and this is to advance the interest of SPLM-IO in the upcoming elections in the state and the country,” Salam said.

“So, the governor cannot stand and watch because that is not acceptable. It is not the spirit of cooperation and friendship that has been told to us by H.E the President of the Republic of South Sudan General Salva Kiir Mayardit. His deputy has also been suspended pending investigation,” he added.

Separately, a media aide to Gatluak also confirmed to Sudans Post that the Rubkona County Commissioner was relieved by the governor, but did not disclose any reason behind the move to remove him.

According to the revitalized peace agreement, the responsibility for dismissal and nomination shall nominate from the party concerned in a certain portfolio and the president is the only person who shall make the appointment due to absence of constitution at the state levels that conform to the revitalized peace agreement.

It remains unclear where Manytuil derived his power from.

That’s violation of transitional peace agreement for government of national unity and this peace its just a coulition or flopping government, there’s no power for governor to dismiss the commissioner that’s nominated by others party rather than reporting to the national government with the following procedures

It is not expectable that, the State Governor can relieve a County Commissioner or a State MP of other party nominee. if any one found doing this in his or her state then he or she must be consider an enemy of Peace in this Country.Because they don’t have those Powers according to R-draft constitution of the Republic South Sudan.
