JUBA – South Sudan’s Upper Nile University has announced that it will resume lectures on Monday, April 19, 2020, according to a statement by the institution’s academic registrar.

The University was closed along with other educational instructions following the resurgence of coronavirus cases that forced government to declare yet an additional month-long lockdown that was called off this week.

In a statement on Wednesday, Alex Yuru, the Acdamic Registrar said studies will resume with strict adherence to the coronavirus measures the government and the World Health Organization has put in place.

“Reference to the Vice Chancellor’s directives dated 15/04/2021 concerning the above subject, all the Third, Fourth, Fifth and Sixth year students are informed that the lectures will resume on Monday 19/04/2021,” he said.

“Therefore, all the students are urged to strictly follow the COVID-19 guidelines,” he added in the statement.
