VP Rebecca Garang travels to Japan to attend Olympic Games

In a statement, the Japanese embassy in Juba said the vice-president was seen off along with her delegation at Juba International Airport by Chargé d'Affaires of the Japanese embassy in Juba, Mr Mitsuhiro Toyama.

JUBA – South Sudan’s vice-president for Youth and Gender Cluster Rebecca Nyandeng De Mabior has this afternoon left the country for Japan to attend the opening of Olympic Games.

In a statement, the Japanese embassy in Juba said the vice-president was seen off along with her delegation at Juba International Airport by Chargé d’Affaires of the Japanese embassy in Juba, Mr Mitsuhiro Toyama.

“On Monday 19th July, H.E. Rebecca Nyandeng De Mabior has left for Japan, leading the South Sudanese delegation for Olympic Games Tokyo 2020,” the Japanese embassy in Juba said in a statement seen by Sudans Post.

“The Chargé d’Affaires of Embassy of Japan, Mr Mitsuhiro Toyama, saw her and her delegation off at Juba International Airport this morning, wishing the best of luck for South Sudanese delegation in Tokyo,” the embassy statement added.

It further said that “2 athletics athletes who have been training in Maebashi city in Japan will participate to the Games from South Sudan!”
