Warrap State governor receives 57 firearms in disarmament drive

The weapons were surrendered by the head of disarmament forces in Monyjang Village, Gogrial West County.

KUAJOK – Warrap State Governor Kuol Muor Muor has received more than 50 firearms in an ongoing disarmament campaign.

The weapons were surrendered by the head of disarmament forces in Monyjang Village, Gogrial West County.

Governor Kuol praised the South Sudan People’s Defense Force (SSPDF) for its role in the effort.

“I appreciated South Sudan People’s Defense Force (SSPDF) commanders for their crucial efforts, and I urged them to continue their tasks to make sure the permanent peace prevails in Warrap State and beyond,” he said.

For his part, SSPDF disarmament commander Brig. Gen. Anthony Nhomcot noted the cooperation with the governor.

“I appreciated the Governor for his endless cooperation and support to the disarmament forces as a result of the current peace in Monyjang Village,” he said, reiterating his commitment to lasting peace in Warrap State.

The firearms were collected peacefully in Gogrial West County between the Aguok and Kuac communities.
