In a statement, the World Bank South Sudan office denied that it is recruiting at least 12,600 young people for various positions and said that the jobs advertisement posting on several WhatsApp group is fake.

“The World Bank Country Office in South Sudan learned of a fraudulent advertisement circulating on social media reporting that the World Bank is sponsoring the recruitment of 12,600 officers to undertake a Population and Housing Census across the country,” the statement reads in part.

“The World Bank Group would like to confirm and clarify that this advertisement is a fake document and cautions the public against reading and disseminating it further.
