Support Meydan and defend your right to the truth!

We need the support of our community now more than ever. With seven of our employees arrested, we’ve been dealt a serious blow. Nevertheless, we intend to continue our mission — to be a platform for everyone in Azerbaijan. To do this, we need the financial support of everyone who is concerned about the state of democracy in Azerbaijan.

For many years, Meydan TV has been under pressure for its independent journalism: a criminal case initiated 10 years ago, the blocking of its website, and ultimately the arrest of its employees. But none of these obstacles should interfere with your right to access independent information on Azerbaijan. Meydan TV will use all modern technological means to break through the information blockade and bring objective and balanced news to viewers. We plan to implement various projects to stimulate citizen journalism, and your financial support will be invaluable to us on this journey.

Meydan TV remains one of the few platforms where millions of Azerbaijanis can be heard. Meydan TV has never resorted to elements that contradict journalism, such as “commissioned” or “manipulated” content. Coverage of phenomena in Azerbaijan such as corruption, bribery, clan rule, police violence, official arbitrariness, judicial lawlessness, and suppression of freedoms is not a foreign order, but the proud position of a free press in the most difficult conditions. The arrested Meydan TV employees, in their letters from behind bars, demand that we continue this activity. Your financial support is extremely important for this.

Democracy is turning from a global process into a local struggle for rights. Now each community must independently defend, preserve, or create its democratic values. In other words, now everyone is responsible for protecting their own “meydan” — their own space. This poses a serious threat to free media in countries with authoritarian regimes. To counter this threat, we intend to transition to a community-supported funding model and are open to any suggestions, discussions, and assistance along the way. Stay with Meydan — stay with us!

This is not just a donation — it is also an act of social responsibility!
