Recap ("the App") is developed and operated by Sandeep Mysore. The short version: Recap does not collect any data. There are no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no Recap server.
These are saved in the App’s private storage on your phone and never sent to us. We have no copy of them.
Stories, slides, soundtracks and videos are created on your phone. Nothing is uploaded. When you share, the App hands the image or video to your phone’s share sheet, and you choose where it goes. What happens next is governed by the app you share to.
To show your counts on the home screen, the App shares a summary of your trackers with its own widgets. On iPhone and iPad this uses an App Group private to Recap; on Android it uses the App’s private storage. The data never leaves your device.
The App asks to add to your photo library only when you tap Save to Photos, and can only add videos there, not read your photos. Notifications are used only for the monthly reminder you turn on in Settings, and are scheduled on your device.
Recap Unlimited is sold through the Apple App Store or Google Play. They handle payment; we never see your card or account details.
Recap is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone.
Delete a log or a tracker in the App, use Settings › Delete all my data, or uninstall the App. See Delete data.
