We are proud to boast the largest collection of reclaimed hardwood in the area. Reclaimed barnwood is great for mantels and beams, flooring, beams, siding, and barn siding. We are open to your ideas. We will work with you and make suggestions to help you find the right wood for it.
Local shops and a handful of national dealers can be found in phone directory or an Internet search (search under reclaimed wood, reclaimed timber or reclaimed lumber).
There are four main reasons you should consider reclaimed wood.
Reclaimed wood is old wood that has been repurposed. For example, it can be old lumber wood from a factory that is transformed into a wine rack, bookshelf, or coffee table.
The trees most commonly harvested were between 100 and 400 year old. They grew naturally slowly and naturally without fertilizers. They were able to withstand droughts and floods which resulted in tighter grain and more dense resins. Reclaimed wood is also superior than newly harvested lumber.
All reclaimed barn wood is not the same. Buying wood that is "straight off the barn" can lead to problems with bugs, mold, moisture, and lead-based paint, all of which we thoroughly process and inspect our barn siding for. You will not get any harmful contaminants or by-products in your home or business from our barn siding.
Do you want to know more about barn wood than just the traditional? We offer many other products such as antique beams and reclaimed floor, among others.
