I last activated Borer's Falls back in October 7, 2023 on SSB, before I knew CW. If you are interested in features of the park, the link provides a much better description of the park. Chris swung by the horse barn, and while I had no intention of activating a POTA today; Dr. Tamitha Skov, the Space Weather Woman, predicted a very noisy day. But Chris, VA3CJW showed up at the barn, and I took little convincing.
Before we left, I tried to get, Thomas, K4SWL on 40m. I tried on 40m, with the KH-1 using the very long counterpoise. The spot was stale, and he had moved to 20m, so I coiled the counterpoise back, so that I could replace it with the 20m counterpoise, and remove the loading coil. In the process of coiling it up, Puss, a frisky 2 year old barn cat attacked the counterpoise!
Chris drove to the POTA, maybe 15 minutes away, and we used his rig to do the activation. I got 12 QSOs. The difference in this activation and the last is that I know more about the parks, and this particular activation is also:
