Transform Your Space: Building a Fold-Down Wall Table
In today's world, multifunctional spaces are a must. A fold-down wall table is an excellent solution to maximize your room's potential, providing extra workspace when needed and tucking away neatly when not in use. Measure and Plan

Cut the Pieces
Using your saw, cut the following pieces from your plywood:
- Table top (36" x 24")
- Table sides (2 pieces, 36" x 3")
- Table back (24" x 3")
- Support shelf (if desired, 36" x 6")
- Wall cleats (2 pieces, 36" x 3", for mounting)
Assemble the Table
Attach the Sides and Back
Apply wood glue to one edge of each table side and attach it to the table top, using 1-1/4" screws. Ensure the sides are perpendicular to the top. Then, attach the table back to the other end of the sides, creating a U-shape.
Add Support Shelf (Optional)
If you'd like extra support, attach the support shelf to the inside of the table, about 6" from the bottom, using wood glue and screws.
Sand and Finish
Sand the table lightly with 120-grit sandpaper to smooth any rough edges. Apply paint or stain as desired, following the manufacturer's instructions.
Install the Hinges
Attach the hinges to the table back and the wall cleats, ensuring they align perfectly. The hinges should allow the table to fold down smoothly and close flush against the wall.
Mount the Wall Cleats
Position the wall cleats on the wall where you want the table to hang. Use a level to ensure they're straight, then mark the screw holes. Drill pilot holes and attach the cleats to the wall using 2-1/2" screws.
Install the Table
Carefully lift the table onto the wall cleats, aligning the hinges. Secure the hinges with screws, ensuring the table folds down smoothly and closes securely against the wall.
