Top Resume Font 2021: Best Typefaces for Professional Impact

In 2021, standing out with your resume meant more than just content—it demanded precision in typography. Choosing the right font can elevate your professionalism and ensure your achievements are read clearly and remembered.

Optimal Resume Fonts for 2021

The year favored clean, legible typefaces that balance elegance with clarity. Recommended fonts include Calibri, Arial, and Montserrat, praised for their modern yet professional look. Avoid overly decorative styles; instead, focus on fonts with consistent x-heights and open letterforms to enhance readability at a glance.

Typography Best Practices

Use font sizes between 10 and 12pt for body text, with headings 18–24pt for emphasis. Limit to two complementary fonts—one for headings and another for body—to maintain visual harmony. Ensure adequate line spacing and contrast against backgrounds to improve accessibility and scanning ease.

Avoiding Common Mistakes

Beware of trendy or hard-to-read fonts like Comic Sans or overly stylized scripts, which can distract from content. Avoid excessive capitalization or colors that strain the eyes—resume fonts should support, not overshadow, your qualifications.
