Gang Rape
Police nabs three accused
Chandigarh, October 6
The police today nabbed the three youngsters who allegedly raped a 26-year-old girl in the wee hours of Monday. Sources said the mobile phone number of the prime accused, 22-year-old Pankaj Thakur, led to the arrest of the trio.

12,747 tonnes of paddy purchased, says DC

Different purchase agencies have so far lifted 12,747 tonne paddy from farmers. Stating this, Deputy Commissioner Dipinder Singh said Pungrain had so far purchased 2,325 tonne paddy, whereas Markfed, Punsup, Punjab Agro, FCI and Warehouse had purchased 3,824, 2,394, 1,840, 625 and 1,260 tonne paddy, respectively.

The police has arrested two youngsters for allegedly snatching a mobile phone form a woman in Sector 32. 308 booked for drunken driving

Undertrial gives police the slip

An undertrial, Tarlochan Singh, gave the Punjab Police the slip and fled from ISBT, Sector 43, today evening.
