Had the code 2e0f also on my 11 x5 with a x35i n55 engine for a few months, car just turned 100k miles. Got a dme firmware update and its gone. Guess there was a issue that bmw was able to fix with software update.

2012 E70 N55 with 159Kmiles. New water pump, new oil filer and cooler gasket, new valve cover/PVC valve, new charge pipes. All stock stuff.

Last item is getting the Valvetronic working. Does not make any grinding sounds at Key On or any other time. All codes cleared a while back, This one comes back.

Rough Idle but runs ok on throttle.
