Elevate Your Space with Hanging Tray Baskets: A Comprehensive Guide

In the realm of home organization and decor, few items are as versatile and stylish as hanging tray baskets. These multifunctional pieces combine form and function, offering a practical solution for storage while adding a touch of charm to any space. Let's delve into the world of hanging tray baskets, exploring their benefits, types, and how to incorporate them into your home.

Understanding Hanging Tray Baskets

A hanging tray basket is essentially a basket with a tray-like base and handles or a hanging mechanism, designed to be suspended from a ceiling hook, wall bracket, or a stand. They are typically made from materials like rattan, seagrass, bamboo, or metal, each offering a unique aesthetic. The tray base provides a stable surface for holding items, while the basket sides offer additional storage space.

Benefits of Using Hanging Tray Baskets

  • Space-Saving: Hanging tray baskets help maximize vertical space, keeping your floors clutter-free.
  • Versatility: They can be used in various rooms - kitchens, bathrooms, living rooms, or even outdoors - and for different purposes, from storing fruits to displaying plants.
  • Easy Access: With items suspended at eye level, you can easily see and reach what you need.
  • Decorative Appeal: Hanging tray baskets add a rustic, bohemian, or industrial touch to your space, depending on the material and design.

Types of Hanging Tray Baskets

  1. Choose the right size and depth to suit your needs and space.
  2. Ensure the hanging mechanism is secure and can support the weight of the items you'll be storing.
  3. Group baskets together for a cohesive look and to maximize storage.
  4. Use them to display decorative items, like succulents or vintage books, as well as functional ones.

Remember, the key to successful home organization is finding solutions that work for your lifestyle and space. Hanging tray baskets offer a stylish and functional way to achieve just that.

I am very early making this so I would advise you to wait a few more weeks yet until there is no risk of frost. I will be bringing this inside in the evenings for a few weeks. Also, I have used mainly singular plants. Wait a couple more weeks and there will be trays of plants in the garden centres and will be alot cheaper to make. What Iโ€™ve used. ๐ŸŒŸ 18 inch forged iron basket ๐ŸŒŸ 18 inch basket liner Plants used from the bottom upwards ๐ŸŒŸ 2 nepeta variegated ๐ŸŒŸ 2 lysmachia gold ๐ŸŒŸ 6 trailing lobelia white ๐ŸŒŸ 4 trailing sufinia white ๐ŸŒŸ 4 trailing pertunas sanguna blue ๐ŸŒŸ 4 mini trailing pertunas callie orange ๐ŸŒŸ 2 diasica flying colours salmon ๐ŸŒŸ 2 nemesia blue bicolours ๐ŸŒŸ 3 pelargonium trailing temprano white ๐ŸŒŸ 3 pelargonium upright tango orange ๐ŸŒŸ 4 lobelia erinnus techno up blue ๐ŸŒŸ 4 pertuna trailing dekko white imp How to make it. ~ Place basket liner inside basket. ~ Place on top of a bowl. ~ Make 4 slits at the bottom of the liner and carefully push through the nepeta and the lysmachia. ~ Add some soil to cover. ~ Add the lobelia through the gaps ~ Add the white sufiniaโ€™s and cover with more soil. ~ Make 4 more slits and add the blue sufiniaโ€™s and more soil ~ Add the orange mini petuniaโ€™s ~ Add the Diasica salmon making more slits as needed ~ Add the Nemesia blue and more soil Top of the basket ~ Add trailing pelargronium white at the sides ~ Add the upright pelargronium orange to the centre ~ Add the lobelia and the petuniaโ€™s trailing, filling the basket. Tips. I staple together the top of the liner openings to keep it all compact and also use zippy ties to hold the basket liner to the basket to make it more secure. Water in with Miracle Grow feed and feed weekly. Keep the soil moist at all times and if we ever get some really hot days, water daily. (Soak it till the water runs though the bottom). Also dead head the petuniaโ€™s and sufiniaโ€™s when you water to encourage more flowers. Any questions, feel free to ask. Have a great day.
