Architecture Scope
The scope of the Regional ITS Architecture can be described in terms of: 1) the size of the region and jurisdictions covered (geographic scope), 2) the planning or time horizon, and 3) the variety of transportation services that are covered. This scope is defined in the context of adjacent and overlapping Regional ITS Architectures.
Description
The WAMPO Regional ITS Architecture is comprised of the core ITS architecture stakeholders, inventory elements, and transportation services for the region. The regional architecture provides a blueprint of how transportation systems within the region will be identified and interconnected. The WAMPO Regional ITS Architecture is compliant with the KDOT Statewide Architecture updated 2016. The KDOT Statewide Architecture includes statewide transportation systems which have interfaces with WAMPO regional systems. These interfaces are shown to relate to the interdependencies of the systems in the delivery of services at the statewide or regional level. The WAMPO Regional Architecture complies with the FHWA Rule 940 requirements, as well as the FTA policy directives, for ITS Architectures. The architecture is compatible with the latest version of the Architecture Reference for Cooperative and Intelligent Transportation (ARC–IT) Version 9.3 which makes available all the ARC–IT content for use in the WAMPO Regional ITS Architecture update.
