Mastering Periodic Slice Deployments: Optimize Your Advertising Strategy

2025 preview

Despite the debate, companies including T-Mobile have been moving forward with network slicing deployments . T-Mobile recently launched "T-Priority," a network slice for first responders supported ...

IETF Network Slice Deployment Status and Considerations

IETF Network Slice Deployment Status and Considerations Abstract Network Slicing is considered as an important approach to provide different services and customers with the required network connectivity, network resources and performance characteristics over a shared network.

Realizing multi-domain end-to-end (E2E) slices in the federated infrastructure network requires efficient slice deployment policy and slice orchestration mechanism. An E2E slice which stretch across the radio access network (RAN), transport, and core network need to be deployed rapidly in different administrative domains and the resources should be allocated to slices for satisfying ...

Understanding Network Slice Life Cycle Management in 5G

Explore the complete network slice life cycle management process in 5G — from design and provisioning to supervision and healing, managed by OSS/BSS and MANO.

A network slice is a logical network that provides specific network capabilities and network characteristics, supporting various service properties for network slice customers. The management and orchestration of network slices is key to operators in support of their communication services.

PDF 5G Network Slicing phase 2 copy

This document is Part 2 of the two-part series - it focuses on addressing some identified threats to 5G SA network slicing, and provides industry recognized practices for the design, deployment , operation, and maintenance of a hardened 5G standalone network slice (s).

We comparatively analyze four RAN slicing deployment options that differ in slice sharing and per-line or per-flow isolation. Unlike prior works that focus on management architectures or resource allocation under a fixed slicing structure, this work addresses the design of RAN slicing deployment options in the presence of multiple production ...

PDF Commercializing 5G Network Slicing

A network slice spans from the UE to the Data Network (DN), supported by open RAN functions (O-RU, O-DU, O-CU: see figure below), Transport Networks (TN), and the 5G Core. O-RAN defines network slicing related technical use cases, requirements, and architecture that can be realized with open RAN functions and interfaces [2].
