Velociraptors were a genus of dromaeosaurid theropod dinosaurs that lived approximately 75-71 million years ago during the late Cretaceous period. They were characterized by their large, sickle-like claws, upright posture, and feathered bodies, as depicted in many modern depictions and the Ausmalbild Raptor.
Size and Appearance
Contrary to popular culture, velociraptors were relatively small, standing about 1-2 meters tall and weighing around 15-20 kilograms. They had large, powerful hind legs, a long, stiffened tail for balance, and an upright posture. Their most distinctive feature was their large, serrated claw on their second toe, which they likely used for grasping and disemboweling prey.
