Here's how you can list your services or products on an invoice:

Service/Product Description

Clearly describe the service or product you provided. Be concise but detailed enough for the client to understand what they're being billed for.

For example: 'Website Design - Homepage & 5 Internal Pages' or 'Product: Custom T-Shirt - Size M, Color: Blue'

Quantity, Rate, and Total

If you're charging for multiple units of a service or product, include the quantity. Then, list the rate (price) per unit. Finally, calculate the total cost by multiplying the quantity by the rate.

Here's how it looks in our example:

Service/ProductQuantityRateTotal
Website Design - Homepage & 5 Internal Pages1$500$500
Logo Design1$150$150

Taxes and Discounts

If you charge taxes, add a line for 'Tax' and specify the tax rate. If the client is eligible for a discount, add a line for 'Discount' and specify the amount.

In our example, we've added a 7% tax and a 5% discount:

Tax7%
Discount5%

Grand Total

Calculate the grand total by adding the subtotal (total of all services/products), taxes, and subtracting any discounts.

In our example, the grand total is $675.50.

Once you've filled in all the details, review your invoice to ensure it's accurate and clear. Then, send it to your client. Regularly following up on outstanding invoices helps maintain a healthy cash flow. Good luck!
