A very important result in the Theory of Inverse Tangent Integrals.
Similar to the other trig functions, the domain of tangent must be restricted for the inverse to be defined as a function. Without this, the inverse function would not pass the horizontal line test. The domain is restricted between (-pi/2, pi/2) with vertical asymptotes at these values. As a result, y=tan^-1(x) has a domain of (-∞, ∞) and a range of (-pi/2, pi/2).

“What part of an inverse tangent function approaching an asymptote don't you understand?" A linear asymptote, given function y=fn(x) with asymptote A, which represents a number that no matter how big or how small you make x, y will never make it to A. The Inverse Tangent function, (Arctangent) has 2 asymptotes. No matter how big you make x, the function will never hit top line (π/2), & no matter how small x gets, y will never be smaller than -π/2. The more you know, the funnier it gets." ☺

A line integral adds up how much a field pushes along a path, step by step. ∫_C F(r) · dr C is the path along which the integration is performed, F(r) is the field evaluated at each point, dr is the small step vector tangent to the curve, and the dot is the inner product of the two vectors. The dot product keeps only the part of the field that lies along the path, so a force at right angles to the motion contributes nothing. This is how work done by a force along a trajectory is computed.
Rotation matrices change the orientation of a vector or object without changing its length, angles, or shape. A rotation about one coordinate axis leaves that axis unchanged while mixing the other two coordinates through sine and cosine. Every proper rotation matrix is orthogonal, satisfying R^{T}R=I, with determinant +1. Its inverse is therefore its transpose. Rotations about several axes are combined through matrix multiplication, but their order matters because three-dimensional rotations generally do not commute. These matrices are used to orient cameras in computer graphics, control robotic arms, track spacecraft attitude, transform coordinate systems, and estimate the pose of objects in computer vision.
