He remembers his mother, siblings, and all the relatives who were
murdered many years ago. His face hardens, and his mind fills with
hatred.
46 INT. THE GIRL'S HOME – NIGHT
When THE MAN walks back into the house to turn the light on, he
sees his daughter walk in from the back of the house. He is surprised.
THE MAN
Where did you go?
THE GIRL
I went outside to get some fresh
air.
The father grabs a couple of chairs, sets it up under the veranda, and
asks the girl to sit down to talk with him. The girl is still weak but her
face has brightened even though it is still pale. The light from the rising
moon weakly brightens the yard in front of the veranda. He asks with a
soft voice.
THE MAN
Do you feel better now?
THE GIRL
Yes, I do.
THE MAN
Do you blame me and Mother?
THE GIRL
No. Don't be sad. It's not your
fault.
The man holds his daughter's head against his shoulder.
