THE AMERASIAN
(whispers)
Oh God, just like in my dream!
He softly and bends down to kiss her, but then hears a voice coming
from the front of the house, saying,
A MAN'S VOICE
It's dark, why don't you turn on
the light?
THE AMERASIAN
All right, I must go now. I will
come back another time. Please wait
for me.
He kisses her gently on the forehead and then runs toward the grassy
hill and quickly disappears.
44 EXT. THE GIRL'S HOME – NIGHT
Wrapped in his overcoat and with his short gun slung over his shoulder,
POLICEMAN B lies in ambush outside the girl's house for 3 nights. He
hopes to catch a glimpse of the Amerasian, but it is all in vain. He sees
the moon rise and set on three consecutive nights as he waits with
some trepidation, but without losing patience. He visualizes in his head
the tall silhouette of the Amerasian, and his hatred for the Americans
surges again.
45 EXT. THE MY LAI MEMORIAL SHRINE – DAY - TIME
(FLASHBACK)
POLICEMAN B stops to watch a few Americans, former soldiers in the
Vietnam War, visiting and burning incense at a memorial for civilians
massacred during that war.
