Kuo-Hao Chang (張國浩)
Distinguished Professor and Micron Chair Professor
Dr. Kuo-Hao Chang currently holds the position of Distinguished Professor in the Department of Industrial Engineering and Engineering Management at National Tsing Hua University and serves concurrently as the Deputy Director of the National Science and Technology Center for Disaster Reduction (NCDR). An expert in Big Data Analytics, Simulation Optimization, and Stochastic Models, Dr. Chang is dedicated to bridging the gap between theory and practice. He has successfully led numerous high-impact consultancy projects for industry leaders, including TSMC, UMC, Micron Technology, and PSMC, delivering outstanding results.
Dr. Chang’s research achievements have garnered significant international recognition. He was the recipient of the 2012 Bonder Scholar Research Award from INFORMS. Additionally, he has received Best Application Paper Awards from top-tier journals, including the 2015 IIE Transactions and the 2017 IEEE Transactions on Semiconductor Manufacturing. He was also awarded the K.D. Tocher Medal by the Operational Research Society.
On the domestic front, Dr. Chang has been distinguished with the Outstanding Research Award from MOST twice. His other accolades include the 2016 Academia Sinica Research Award for Junior Research Investigators, the 2015 NSTC Ta-You Wu Memorial Award, and the 2013 Outstanding Young Industrial Engineers Award from CIIE.
Actively involved in service to the academic community, Dr. Chang is a Senior Member of IEEE and a member of INFORMS. He currently serves as an Associate Editor for both IEEE Transactions on Automation Science and Engineering and the Asia-Pacific Journal of Operational Research.
