Phecc first aid response is a 3-day course that will equip the attendee with the necessary practical skills, knowledge and confidence to;
give effective life support (cpr);
diagnose and treat injuries or illness;
maintain care and comfort of a patient who has become suddenly ill or injured in the workplace or community until the arrival of emergency medical
services
;
use an automated external defibrillator (aed);
administer aspirin for cases of a suspected heart attack.
The health & safety authority (hsa) now recognises the phecc first aid response (far) training course as meeting the needs of occupational first aid training. The far standard was developed by the pre-hospital emergency care council (phecc), an independent statutory body that sets the standards for education and training for pre-hospital emergency care in ireland.
The course is first aid response (far) phecc accredited.
Since 1st june 2018 the health & safety authority only recognise the phecc first aid response training standard (far) as meeting the needs of occupational first aid in all workplaces in ireland. Frs training are a recognised institution with phecc. The far course is offered over a three day period with a max attendance of 6. Far schedule.
Description: this first aid response is designed to provide training to staff who intend to fulfil a position of first aider within the workplace. Participants will develop the necessary skills to deal with all injury emergencies at work and give effective life support to casualties. Our course is phecc accredited and is run to hsa guidelines. What is first aid response? if an employee is hurt or injured, first aid response is the emergency treatment given on site, before professional medical care arrives. This care given at a work site can be anything from cleaning and bandaging a minor wound to performing cpr until an ambulance arrives.

Do you know what to do in an emergency situation? the new 3-day phecc (pre-hospital emergency care council) first aid training course provides appropriate training to individuals and groups who require a first aid skill set including cardiac first response.
Since the 1st june 2018, the health and safety authourity (hsa) only recognises the pre-hospital emergency care council (phecc) first aid response standard as meeting the needs of occupational first aid in workplaces while qqi ofa courses completed prior to 1st june 2018 will be recognised for the full 2 years duration, courses after that date will not be recognised by the hsa.
Anyone looking to train others in the areas of emergency first aid skills leading to qualification as a first aid instructor. Under the health and safety at work act 2005 you should ensure that you have qualified first aid responders on premises, note that the far course covers this requirement. Note: this programme requires a high level of trainee participation and interaction where the theory is enhanced by practical demonstration of skills and practical application by trainees.
