What are treatment options? It will vary depending on the area that is being treated. You can expect a numbing lotion to be applied around 20 minutes before the procedure. There might be some discomfort but no pain. An anesthetic will be applied to the area that requires more intense treatment. We recommend that you return to our office within 24 to 48 hours to receive further treatment. This includes any additional drainage of excess sebum. The treatment involves inserting an insulated needle in the fat pad or wrinkle to treat acne. Radio frequency is used to trigger the right number of pulses for each area.
What does it mean to recover? You might experience redness, swelling, or bruising the first week. Deeper treatments may cause numbness that lasts up to 4 weeks. When can I expect to see results? The area treated may appear worse after the procedure, which is normal. As your body heals over the weeks and months that follow the procedure, you'll notice a noticeable difference in collagen formation and skin tightening. This will allow you to mold your structure back to the desired appearance. It is possible to get the best results with just one treatment. However, not all procedures can be done in one go. It is possible to get the best results with multiple treatments.

We get questions from potential patients who come to our Lenexa office for an aesthetic treatments because they want to look younger. We asked Dr. Margolin about his advice to patients who might have unrealistic expectations about aesthetic treatments. Dr. Margolin said, “I tell potential patients the truth: I am an M.D., not a magician. I understand that it’s natural for people to want to look their best. Everyone wants to look their best, so they feel their best. Aesthetic treatments like BOTOX can temporarily reduce lines and wrinkles but these treatments can’t make them look like they did in college or like their favorite supermodel.”
Dr. Margolin explains aging skin like a piece of paper. “If you take a piece of paper and fold it in different ways repeatedly for decades, the paper would have permanent creases. This is what happens to our skin!” Injectable treatments like BOTOX and JUVEDERM can temporarily reduce aging signs by relaxing facial muscles and filling in certain areas.
