What are treatment options? It will vary depending on the area that is being treated. You can expect a numbing lotion to be applied around 20 minutes before the procedure. You may experience minimal discomfort as well as pain during the procedure. The numbing lotion and local anesthesia may be used to treat deeper areas. We recommend that you visit the office within 24 hours to complete treatment. This involves inserting an insulated, needle-like instrument into the affected area, such as a fat pad or wrinkle. The radio frequency will then trigger the required number of pulses.
What is the recovery process like? You may feel some redness, swelling and bruising during the first week. You may feel numbness for as long as four weeks after deeper treatments. When can I expect to see the results? The treated area might look worse during recovery. This is normal. As your body heals over the weeks and months that follow the procedure, you'll notice a noticeable difference in collagen formation and skin tightening. This will allow you to mold your structure back to the desired appearance. It is possible to get the best results with just one treatment. However, not all procedures can be done in one go. You may need to do more than one treatment in order to achieve the best results.

We get questions from potential patients who come to our Lenexa office for an aesthetic treatments because they want to look younger. We asked Dr. Margolin about his advice to patients who might have unrealistic expectations about aesthetic treatments. Dr. Margolin said, “I tell potential patients the truth: I am an M.D., not a magician. I understand that it’s natural for people to want to look their best. Everyone wants to look their best, so they feel their best. Aesthetic treatments like BOTOX can temporarily reduce lines and wrinkles but these treatments can’t make them look like they did in college or like their favorite supermodel.”
In a Day Spa, treatments are typically provided by people certified in areas like therapeutic massage and cosmetology. A Med Spa is a hybrid between a Medical Aesthetic Clinic and a Day Spa that operates under the supervision of a highly trained and specialized Physician.
This treatment reduces the appearance of wrinkles by relaxing facial muscles, but it isn’t as dramatic as plastic surgery. But if a patient has an eyebrow crease or forehead lines, BOTOX can help. This treatment softens lines and prevents them from creasing your skin. But BOTOX can’t reduce lines and wrinkles caused by the loss of facial fullness. To remedy those issues, we use dermal fillers like JUVEDERM.
