Kitchen door wrapping, and re-wrapping peeling doors
Kitchen door wrapping puts a fresh architectural film over tired kitchen doors and drawer fronts. It is also the usual fix for vinyl-wrapped doors that have started to peel. See kitchen door wrapping at KWrap for the full service.

Why vinyl kitchen doors peel
Many fitted kitchens use doors with a factory vinyl skin pressed onto MDF. Over time, heat and steam from the oven, kettle and dishwasher soften the glue, and the skin starts to lift at the edges, usually on the doors closest to those appliances first.
How re-wrapping works
The lifting skin is removed, the door underneath is cleaned, sanded and filled where needed, and a new architectural film is fitted, heated round every edge and sealed. Doors near the oven or dishwasher are checked for heat and steam, and a heat shield or vent can be suggested where one would help.
Because the whole kitchen can be wrapped in the same film at the same time, re-wrapping a few peeling doors is often the moment people change the colour of the whole kitchen.
Matching or changing
If only a few doors are damaged, the closest available film can sometimes be matched to the rest of the kitchen, but an exact match to an old factory finish is rarely possible. Wrapping every door in one new film gives a consistent result. The options are shown with samples at the survey.
Questions
Can you fix just one peeling door?
Sometimes. A close match may be possible, but old factory finishes are hard to match exactly, so re-wrapping all the doors in one film is usually the better result.
Will the new wrap peel too?
Peeling is mainly caused by heat, steam and poor edge sealing. A professionally fitted architectural film is heated and post-heated at every edge, and KWrap gives a 2-year guarantee on its work.
