M.A. Gedney Company was founded in 1880 by Mathias A. Gedney in Minneapolis as the M.A. Gedney Pickling Company, and incorporated April 23, 1888. Its headquarters moved to Chaska in 1958. The company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in 2002 and exited with a restructuring plan in 2003. In 2009 California-based PMC Global bought the company. In 2012 its name was changed to Gedney Foods.
