On Thursday, June 26, 2025, ARIJ concluded an intensive in-person training titled “Investigative Training on Gender-Based Digital Violence”, held over four days from June 23 to 26 at ARIJ’s offices in Amman. The training was conducted under the “I Will Not Stay Silent” project, in partnership with  SecDev Foundation.

The workshop brought together eight Egyptian female journalists, aiming to enhance their skills in producing in-depth investigative reports addressing digital violence against women.

A specialized team led the training from ARIJ, including Executive Editor Ibrahim Hamadah, Senior Editor and Trainer Farah Jallad, Senior Researcher Eman Alqaisi, and Senior Digital Specialist Saeed Hammad.

On the first day, participants explored the differences between reports and investigations, learned how to generate investigative ideas, and were introduced to the ARIJ Academy and its available learning resources.

In the following days, the training focused on formulating hypotheses, writing and editing, fact-checking, and digital safety, providing a hands-on environment for participants to develop the necessary tools to produce safe and professional investigations. A dedicated session on digital security was held on the final day, equipping journalists with essential tools and strategies to protect themselves and their work online.

The sessions followed ARIJ’s investigative journalism methodology, covering all stages from idea generation and hypothesis building to verification and editorial writing, alongside modules on journalistic ethics, visual elements, and the ethical use of AI in journalism.

The program also included interactive practical sessions, such as an Idea Lab, which helped participants develop feasible and impactful investigation proposals.
