JUBA — Eastern Equatoria State Youth Union has condemned Bor Community Chairman for allegedly defaming Governor Louis Lobong Lojore.

Last week, Dr. Angok Gordon Kuol, Chairman of Bor Community, issued a statement accusing Governor Lobong of having hidden agenda toward Bor Dinka Community after alleging that herders from Bor are behind the killing, looting, raping, and abduction in the state.

Urup David Uyak, Eastern Equatoria State Leader has given Bor Community Chairman up to 72 hours to withdraw its claims and tender an apology.

“We the Youth of Eastern Equatoria State strongly condemn the statement by the so-called Chairman of Dinka Bor Community, Angok Gordon Kuol for attacking our governor on several occasions on social media and he will be held responsible should any happy to our able governor,” David said in a statement seen by Sudans Post.

David said if Bor Community Chairman failed to apologize within 72 hours, the Union will be left with no choice then to hold Bor Community Youth in Juba accountable for provocation against their  Governor and the people of Eastern Equatoria State.

“We demand an apology from Bor Community Youth Association-Juba within 72 hours for attacking our able governor of Eastern Equatoria State, otherwise, Bor Community Youth in Juba shall be held accountable for provocation against the governor and the people of Eastern Equatoria State,” David said.

The youth leader accused Dinka Bor cattle herders of committing various atrocities in Eastern Equatoria such as killing, looting, abduction, and rape, a claim which Bor Community Chairman Dr. Angok Kuol denied in a statement last week.

“The Youth of Eastern Equatoria State is holding accountable the lawless and destructive Dinka Bor cattle herders for killing, looting, abduction, and raped carried out by them to the communities of Eastern Equatoria State,” he said.

“Our patience as people of Eastern Equatoria State has been tested several times by Dinka Bor Community and in case of further provocation, the youth of Eastern Equatoria would respond accordingly.”
