Ex-South Sudan deputy police inspector general dies in Cairo

CAIRO – Former South Sudan Assistant Inspector General of Police, Lt. Gen. Joseph Lado  Laku, has passed on in the Egyptian capital Cairo last week, according to a statement by South Sudan police spokesman General Daniel Justin.

Several police officers said the former police commander who served though late 2017 as Assistant Inspector General of Police for Social Welfare has been sick for several years before he was eventually flown to Cairo this year.

“South Sudan National Police Service is deeply regret to announces the untimely death of former AIGP Lt. Gen Joseph Lado Laku who passed on yesterday in Cairo Egypt, Gen Lado was the former assistant Inspector General of police for social welfare before his retirement from police service two years ago,” the police spokesman said in a statement seen by Sudans Post.

“The Family members and police leadership are working closely to arrange for body transportation to Juba. May his soul rest in peace,” the statement added.
