S. Sudan recalls immigration attachés from six of its foreign missions

JUBA – South Sudan government has this week recalled twelve (12) police officers working in six of its diplomatic missions abroad as immigration attachés, according to a letter of recall seen by Sudans Post.

“The office of the Director General of Civil Registry, Nationality, Passports and Immigration presents its compliment to respective embassies and has the honour to order recall of the following immigration attaches back to the DCRNPI-HQRS with effect from the date of this signature,” the letter bearing the names of the officers seen by Sudans Post reads in part.

The officers ordered to return to the world’s youngest country’s capital works at six South Sudan embassies in Ethiopia, Sudan, Eritrea, China, Egypt, Nigeria, Norway, Uganda and Kenya.

There was no reason mentioned, but one of the obvious reasons might be the economic declined that the country has been witnessing in recent years that has let to depreciation of local currency and has let to government inability to pay employees on time.
