India appoints new ambassador to South Sudan

Currently, S.D Moorthy is the Indian ambassador to Juba.

JUBA — The government of India has announced on Friday that it is deploying a new ambassador to South Sudan, the world’s youngest country.

Currently, S.D Moorthy is the Indian ambassador to Juba.

In the statement the Indian foreign ministry said it has appointed Shri Vishnu Kumar Sharma who currently works as a director in the ministry of foreign affairs, as the new ambassador of India to South Sudan and will take up the position shortly.

“Shri Vishnu Kumar Sharma (YOA:2007), presently Director in the Ministry has been appointed as the next Ambassador of India to the Republic of South Sudan,” the foreign ministry statement said.

“He is expected to take up the assignment shortly,” it added.
