Kiir appoints commissioners for Makal, Ulang counties

South Sudan President Salva Kiir Mayardit has this evening issued a republican decree appointing commissioners for Upper Nile state’s Makal and Ulang counties.

JUBA – South Sudan President Salva Kiir Mayardit has this evening issued a republican decree appointing commissioners for Upper Nile state’s Makal and Ulang counties.

The decree read out on the state-owned South Sudan Broadcasting Corporation cited powers of conferred upon president in the transitional constitution and the revitalized peace agreement.

In the decree, Kiir appointed Charles Chol Deng Yor of Othr Political Parties (OPP) as commissioner for Makal county and Riek Gai Gatluak of South Sudan Opposition Alliance (SSOA) as commissioner for Ulang county.
