Kiir is not a trusted partner, Olony warned

JUBA, MARCH 4, 2023 (SUDANS POST) – South Sudan’s main armed opposition commander General Simon Gatwech Dual has warned his former deputy Gen. John son Olony Thabo against falling into the trap of President Salva Kiir, saying the man is untrustworthy.

In a statement warning Olony against use of ‘SPLM-IO Kitgwang Declaration’ by Agwelek, Gatwech said Olony is betraying the cause of the Chollo people for a deal with President Kiir who he said is an untrusted partner.

“The SPLM/A-IO KD leadership would like to advice Gen. Johnson Olony not to betray the cause of Chollo community for the lust of personal interest and the Agreement he signed with Government in juba will never bring back the annexed lands claimed by the Chollo Community,” he said.

He warned Gen. Olony against the use of “SPLM-IO Kitgwang Declaration” as the official name of his faction.

“SPLM/A-IO KD leadership warns the Agwelek faction leader Gen. Johnson Olony against repeating such unfounded claim of owning what he has not worked for and the SPLM/A-IO KD will not condone such a negative propaganda claims and if it repeated itself in the future,” he added.
