Kiir relieves and appoints officials in western Equatoria state

The decree, issued on March 9, 2026, by the Office of the President in Juba, relieved and appointed several officials who are serving under the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement–In Opposition (SPLM-IO) in the State.

YAMBIO — South Sudan’s President Salva Kiir Mayardit on Friday issued a presidential decree relieving and appointing several officials in the government of Western Equatoria State.

The decree, issued on March 9, 2026, by the Office of the President in Juba, relieved and appointed several officials who are serving under the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement–In Opposition (SPLM-IO) in the State.

The presidential decree is part of ongoing administrative adjustments within the Western Equatoria State government.

The following officials were relieved from their positions:

State Advisor

  1. Azera Mina – Legal Advisor

State Ministers

  1. Morris Bazia – Minister of Finance, Planning and Investment

 

  1. Isaac Mursal – Minister of Labour, Public Service and Human Resource Development

 

  1. Elia Usini Dominic—Minister of Information and Communication

State Independent Commissions

  1. Abuida Samuel – Chairperson, Anti-Corruption Commission

 

  1. Amos Manga – Chairperson, HIV/AIDS Commission

 

  1. Charles Alley – Deputy Chairperson, Human Rights Commission

 

  1. Wilson Atilio Saine – Deputy Chairperson, Employees Justice Chamber

 

  1. Isaac Atoroba Moses – Member, Conflict Resolution Committee

 

  1. Elizabeth Richard Bagboro – Member, Relief and Rehabilitation Commission

County Commissioners

  1. Henry Bangagada – Nagero County Commissioner

 

  1. Ruben Amai – Mvolo County Commissioner

 

  1. Lino Futaki Kuago – Nzara County Commissioner

Newly appointed officials

In the same decree, President Kiir appointed new officials to serve in the government of Western Equatoria State as follows:

  1. Hon. Costa F. Akile Fulanguru – Advisor for Legal Affairs

State Ministers

  1. Bakiki Simple John Francis – Minister of Finance, Planning and Investment

 

  1. Mohamed Juma Bistin – Minister of Information and Communication

State Independent Commissions

  1. Bazia Tito Morris – Chairperson, Anti-Corruption Commission

 

  1. Mathia James Ture – Chairperson, HIV/AIDS Commission

 

  1. Hipai Regina Romano – Deputy Chairperson, Human Rights Commission

 

  1. Koro Silvan Bring – Deputy Chairperson, Employees Justice Chamber

 

  1. Ezra Mina – Member, Conflict Resolution Committee

 

  1. Jenty Masu – Member, Relief and Rehabilitation Commission

County Commissioners

  1. Nicola Vero Usini – Nagero County Commissioner

 

  1. Isaac Sebit Brown – Mvolo County Commissioner
