Machar to head 7-member committee to address youth unemployment

According to the deputy minister of information, the committee will also include two vice-presidents, the minister of national security Obuto Mamur, minister of labour and public service James Hoth Mai, minister of humanitarian affairs Peter Mayen, and minister of youth Albino Bol.

JUBA – South Sudan government has formed a seven-member committee to address concerns by youth over unemployment crisis, according to the deputy minister of information Baba Medan Konyi.

The Council of Ministers in its ordinary meeting on Friday in Juba decided to form a committee that will be head by First Vice President Dr. Riek Machar Teny to address youth grievances that has led to violence against aid workers.

According to the deputy minister of information, the committee will also include two vice-presidents, the minister of national security Obuto Mamur, minister of labour and public service James Hoth Mai, minister of humanitarian affairs Peter Mayen, and minister of youth Albino Bol.

According to Baba Medan, the committee will look into the grievances of the youth over unemployment.

“They will follow the issue not only in Torit but also in other parts of the country to address it,” Baba Medan told the press after the Council of Ministers in Juba on Friday.
