JUBA –  Police in South Sudan’s capital Juba have arrested a man from the country’s Jonglei state for trying to sell his two children, police spokesman Daniel Justin has said.

The man, Justin said, identified as Jackson Maker who hails from Jonglei state, was found in the process of looking for someone to buy his children, a charge the suspect has so far denied.

“The suspect has been arrested and has been put under investigation. He was trying to sell his children and so he has been arrested,” General Justin told Sudans Post from Juba on phone this afternoon.

The two children are aged between Ten and Seven years.

For his part, former parliament speaker of the defunct Boma state Judi Jonglei said the suspect ” was arrested after a tip off from locals.”
