JUBA – South Sudan government is now allowing the entry of Sudanese nationals without visa, according to the country’s presidential advisor on security affairs Tutkew Gatluak Manimeh.

The announcement by the senior government official comes a day before the signing ceremony of the Sudanese peace deal, which is expected to be conducted tomorrow at Juba’s Dr. John Garang De’Mabior Mausoleum.

Speaking to Sudans Post this morning, Gatluak who is also the chief mediator of the Sudanese peace talk in Juba, and head of South Sudan’s National Transitional Committee, said the latest offer by the government is a fulfillment to the 2012 cooperation agreement.

“This is in line with the cooperation agreement and a gesture of goodwill from the government and people of South Sudan to our brothers in the North,” Gatluak said from Juba on phone.

“Remember the president mentioned during the initialing of the Sudanese peace agreement in August that ‘we are one people living in two countries’ and also the Sudanese people have also hosted our people during our war. So, this is the time to return the good will,” he added.

The Cooperation Agreement between Sudan and South Sudan was signed in September 2012, following the Heglig crisis.

The agreement resulted into what would be the four freedoms: “freedom of residence, freedom of movement, freedom to undertake economic activity and freedom to acquire and dispose property.”
